FAQ
What’s this blog about?
Magick, witchcraft, paganism, and the altogether extraordinary. Read it!
Can I join in the fun?
Definitely! Simply head over here and fill out the form. Soon you will recieve an email with your account name and a temporary password. Login and start posting! Best of all: it’s free, and all your content remains your property to do with as you please!
What can I post?
Anything related to magick, paganism, or the occult. That means essays, book reviews, rituals, spells, helpful tips, stories, poems, songs, and anything else you can come up.
Are there any rules?
Unfortunately, yes. While we are big fans of liberty and individual sovereignty, absolute freedom on the internet is not generally a good idea. The rules are simple and can be viewed here.
Can I post content published elsewhere?
Yes and no. We prefer that all content posted here be your own creation, but you can have published it elsewhere before. However, there is a general lore of spells and rituals that has been passed around and added to for millennia, and we do not spit in the face of that tradition. Thus it is inevitable that spells, rituals, and other items will exist in other places. If at all possible, make sure that, if you are not the author of something you want to post, you find out who is, get permission, and attribute it to them. If no attribution is known, add that at the end of the post.
Can I post classic occult texts, such as things by Crowley or Gardener?
Again, yes and no. Many of those works are technically owned by various publishers, even if they are not in print, and it puts us in a precarious situation to publish them online. Additionally, many of these works have been published elsewhere. In general, what we prefer is content you have created yourself or learned through traditions and teachings that are otherwise unpublished.
Exception: Posts such as “5 Great Online Sources for Occult Texts” would be a great post, even though it would only be some links and a summary of why you thought each site was great. Links, collections of resources, book reviews, all of these are considered original content.
I heard you guys have a store. Where is it?
We do have a store! You can find that site here or come visit us at 924 Soquel Avenue in Santa Cruz, California.
I live in Santa Cruz. Can I suggest an event?
Definitely! While not all events are feasible, we love to help things happen! The only requirements are that your suggestion is community-friendly and you are able to help make them happen. Simply head over here and we will get back to you.
I can’t use the posting software, or find it confusing.
This can be a bit of a problem for people unfamiliar with blogging. While the interface is meant to be as user-friendly as possible, some complexity just can’t be helped. If you simply need some help figuring out how everything works you can use the Help link in the right hand corner of the Wordpress dashboard. If there is a specific problem you can email us and we will try to work with you to figure it out.
I can’t log in!
Please enter your username and password exactly as it was sent to you. Capitalization matters in both. If you don’t remember your password, please email me and I will reset it.
I like your site!
Thanks! We are using a modified form of the Aspire Theme and Wordpress version 2.51.
Where can I go for further questions?
You can contact our friendly neighborhood web-monkey, thePuck, by email and he will be glad to answer your questions.
